Unify, the Atos brand for communications and collaboration software and services recently announced the release of OpenScape Enterprise, delivering superior usability, mobility and collaboration to enterprises and vertical industries. OpenScape Enterprise v9 offers significant enhancements, providing collaboration tools and solutions to support the digital workplace and enable businesses to better compete in today’s on-demand economy.

“The accelerating ‘on-demand’ nature of today’s business creates an expectation for immediate access to services, people and information, yet addressing the human element of collaboration is also critical to an organization’s success,” said Peter Kuerpick, Executive Vice President, Product House, for Unify. “OpenScape Enterprise v9 addresses both. It provides the superior security, reliability and scalability required for the enterprise, and brings users and content together to help them stay connected, be responsive and collaborate seamlessly.”
OpenScape Enterprise v9 includes new features and enhancements to the OpenScape UC, OpenScape Voice, OpenScape Branch and OpenScape Session Border Controller applications. Regardless of location or device, OpenScape helps bring users and content together, seamlessly, securely, and at the lowest cost.
“We are using OpenScape Enterprise v9 across a number of areas of our business, and our employees find it easy to use and intuitive, which drives collaboration,” said Don Wendt,  Unified Communications Engineer at ITW, a developer and processor of engineered components, industrial systems and consumables. “On the IT side, it has been a breeze to deploy and manage, which means we can focus on the users and the benefits of the technology, rather than on the technology deployment itself.”

OpenScape UC

OpenScape UC v9 delivers comprehensive unified communications capabilities enabling seamless collaboration, improved mobile worker productivity, and a more flexible, intuitive user experience. New features include:

  • Enhancements such as responsive design, team and advanced rules capabilities to the desktop clients to simplify and expand communication while delivering greater flexibility and a more personalized user experience.
  • Updated OpenScape Fusion – One client support for Microsoft Office, Outlook, Skype for Business / Lync – for customers demanding a more seamless UC Integration into the Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Office 2016 and Office 365)
  • Improvements to the OpenScape Mobile application for additional call control features and Mobile Device Management (MDM) support with market leaders (BlackBerry Enterprise Server, MobileIron and 7P)

OpenScape Voice

OpenScape Voice v9 includes usability upgrades to drive greater user adoption and improved productivity. In addition, it now offers a Multilevel Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) service for use in Public Sector emergency services and industrial emergency response teams. This service allows properly validated users to preempt lower priority phone calls with higher priority calls during critical events.
OpenScape Voice v9 also provides an advanced telephony integration with Unify’s cloud work stream collaboration and communication solution, Circuit. This allows customers to leverage enterprise-grade OpenScape Voice capabilities with Circuit to further improve employee productivity and reachability.  OpenScape Voice v9 continues to deliver superior security capabilities, now including AS-SIP, the standard signaling protocol used within the US Department of Defense, and cyber security features as required by the Department of Defense,  which are critical features for public sector, healthcare and financial services customers.

OpenScape Branch

OpenScape Branch v9 enhancements include local voicemail service, an attractive option for branch de-ployments with limited bandwidth and regional affinity. Additionally, it offers increased capacity of backup contact center agents and improved management tools including a bulk change capability which can apply changes to one, more or all of the OpenScape Branches within the network at the same time, a real labor saver.

OpenScape Session Border Controller (SBC)

OpenScape SBC now offers greater support for NG911 deployments, with support for location-awareness from remote phones to the OpenScape Voice platform. In addition, it offers increased scalability, serviceability, and reliability.
